Internship
Interns receive training from seasoned financial advisors in multiple aspects of the investment world such as: day-to-day operations, portfolio design, financial planning, financial strategy as well as many other miscellaneous office duties. Interns receive hands-on experience dealing directly with clients and prospective clients under the supervision of staff while participating in educational classes that cover a broad range of topics.

- Specific Duties –
- Client and prospective client calls, Retirement Analysis, Portfolio Analysis and Design, Client Relationship Database Management, Marketing
- Location Of Employment –
- El Segundo, CA
- Rate Of Pay –
- Non-Paid, may be eligible to receive academic credit
- Internship Hours -
- The internship is broken down into two four hour days twice per week.

- Internship Seasons -
- Spring (January 29th - May 10th)
- Summer (May 29th - August 16th)
- Fall (August 27th - November 15th)
- Weekly Educational Classes -
- We have a curriculum designed to last the duration of the internship that discusses a wide range of topics including:
- Differences between stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETF’s, etc.
- Different types of accounts - IRA, SEP IRA, 401(K), 403(B), Trust, Individual
- Tax implications of different investment and savings choices
- Physiology of the investment process
- The history of the stock/bond market
- How interest rates can affect you investment outlook
- We have a curriculum designed to last the duration of the internship that discusses a wide range of topics including:
- The Process of Financial Planning -
- Overview of the financial planning process ranging from teaching students how to gather data, analyze it, implement a plan and monitor it.
- Portfolio Construction -
- How to construct an efficient portfolio
- How to analyze a portfolio
- How to use analysis software like Morningstar
- Industry Career Options-
- Different careers and opportunities in the finance field
- The day to day life of a financial advisor
